「国際紳士淑女録」の選考委員会から、履歴登録の締め切りを延期するとの通知を受けた。メールによると、「問い合わせ多数で登録作業にトラブル発生」となっている。本当の理由は違うのでは？サービス機能が、WikipediaやFacebookなどに代替されているからではないか。
”Who’sWho”は、自称「有名人」をターゲットにした自己申告制の「名簿情報サービス（名鑑）」である。ところが、わたしのような人間は、すでにウエブ上に英語のCV（経歴）をアップしている。だから、それを承認してもらうだけで、「紳士録」は完成である。あるいは、名鑑委員会がわたしから許可を得て、個人情報を編集してもよいはずである。
それに対して、競争相手とみなされている以下の３つの「履歴情報提供サービス」（Wikipedia, Facebook, and LinkedIn）では、ウエブシステムとして、企業情報（ LinkedIn）や個人情報（Facebook）を自動的に履歴管理できる。従来は”Who’sWho”の強みだと思われていた選考の権威（スクリーニング基準）が、情報の自動更新のためにはマイナスに作用しているのである。
一言でいえば、個人情報の編集プロセスに、ウエブ革命が忍び寄ってきているのである。そのことに、同社は気が付いていない可能性がある。
しばしば、プロモーション会社が、限定販売のときに用いるフレーズが、この勧誘文からは漂ってくる。「数に限りがあります！」「締め切りまであと何日！」。このようなメールを対象顧客に送りつけることは、販売戦略上は逆効果ではないのか。
わたし自身についていえば、「国際紳士淑女録に掲載！」のような権威に頼って仕事をしているわけではない。自らの力で、発信力で名声を獲得する努力をしている。個人をプロモートするスタイルとしても、「上から目線（評価してあげます）」のメディアの姿勢は、WEB3.0時代の人々からは反発を買いそうである。
「ビジネスモデルの再考を！」と、ついつい言いたくなってしまう。昨夜、名鑑委員会からいただいたメールを添付する。背景情報を読み取っていただきたい。
