本日早朝6時、オランダから国際電話があった。JFMA顧問で、いつも海外ツアーの際に、オランダ語の通訳を依頼している山本清子さんからである。
用件は、「オランダのふたつの花市場の合併が正式に決まった」ことの知らせである。アルスメール市場（第２位）とフローラホランド市場（第１位）が合併することで、オランダのほぼ全量に近い花が、ひとつの市場で取引されることになる。
「独禁法」の問題を昨年から審議してきていたが、ごく最近「適法」であるという結論が下されていた。残されたハードルは、生産者から組織されている両市場の組合員による投票で、3分の２以上の賛成を得ることが条件であった。昨日の投票の結果、８０％以上の賛成で、最終的に合併にGOサインがだれることになった。
HPにて簡単にお知らせすることにした。オランダでは、売上高約6000億円の巨大花市場が誕生することになる。
山本さんからの電話の直後に、アルスメール市場の海外担当者、ユルン君からメールが入った。さらに情報は詳細であった。オランダの現場の雰囲気を伝えるために、そのまま掲載することにする。フローラホランド（ナードバイク）の組合員より、アルスメールの組合員の方が賛成票が多いのが印象的である。

last night we have had a historic evening!
Both in Aalsmeer and in Naaldwijk the members voted in favour of or against the proposed merger.
At 22.45 hrs the chairman of the Aalsmeer board, and the chairman of the Flora Holland board were in televison contact with eacother and announced the results of the voting. On both auctions the % in favour should be more than 2/3 of all votes present.
With a large majority the members agreed with the plans to merge into one flower cooperation. In Naaldwijk 79% voted in favour and in Aalsmeer it was even more, 85%. This is a fantastic result and we are very happy that we can go forward with our plans.
